About Songbird
An open platform dedicated to helping audio enthusiasts explore, compare, and understand in-ear monitors through frequency response measurements.
The project was created from a simple idea: finding reliable information about IEMs should be easy. Instead of jumping between forums, review sites, spreadsheets, and measurement databases, Songbird brings everything together in a single place designed for quick comparison and discovery.
Whether you're researching your next purchase, comparing different tunings, exploring target curves, or simply satisfying your curiosity, Songbird provides tools to visualize and analyze how IEMs differ from one another.
Our goal is not to tell you what to like.

- A sound signature analyzer — Bass / Mids / Treble scores and a plain-language profile (Warm V-Shape, Neutral, Bright…)
- Smart peak annotations and a per-region tonality breakdown
- “Similar IEMs” suggestions based on FR shape, and a target-match score
- Advanced filters by driver type, driver count, price, release year and measurement rig
- Per-brand pages and a searchable catalog of IEMs from around the world
- Rig awareness (IEC 711 vs B&K 5128), with a warning when curves aren’t comparable across rigs
- Difference views — Δ versus a target, A − B between two IEMs, and L/R channel imbalance
- PNG chart export, light & dark themes, and five languages
Why “Songbird”?
A songbird is known for its ability to perceive, create, and communicate sound. The name reflects the spirit of the project: helping people navigate the vast world of personal audio through better information and better tools.
Built with the same philosophy used in observability and engineering: good decisions come from good data.
Built on open data
Songbird wouldn’t exist without the open measurement community. Our catalog is assembled entirely from publicly available frequency-response measurements — from sources such as Earphones Archive and the many Squig Link instances run by reviewers and enthusiasts around the world.
The interactive graph is modeled on the open-source CrinGraph project — the tool that powers squig.link — so its axes, smoothing and behavior match what the hobby already expects. We’re grateful to every measurer and developer whose open work makes this project possible.
